"I like this book. You cant expect to much detail on everything as most countries only Feature 3-5 pages. Dont think of this book as a detailled travel guide. It only gives you a quick rundown of every Country in the world, what to see, where to go, some Information.
If you want to just daydream about world travel and not plan every little thing on the trip this is the book for you.
I have the kindle Version which is fine. Just the pictures dont really come across on black-and-white screens. This is not the books fault though.

- This book is breathtaking. It’s hardcover and beautifully illustrated with photographs. It’s also humbling to see how the US is afforded only about 3 pages in this book. Quite interesting to see what is determined travel worthy for the world as well. It’s tiny but definitely a conversation piece for a small coffee table! Buy it- you won’t regret it!!
- A beautiful, thick book chalk full of photos and quick recommendations of many places around the globe. Consider this a kind of high-level overview which plucks a little bit of info from every book Lonely Planet has ever written on travel destinations around the world. The cover is holographic, which looks incredible as a coffee table book
- Bought this on a whim as a daily deal. I've traveled to numerous countries, and looked them up in this book to see what LP said. Although I don't entirely agree with the must-see items for some (or think some should be ranked differently), I do think it's a great guide to the world if you're a tableside traveler (someone who reads travel books at home without plans to travel) or if you're an adventurer who is looking for the next obscure country to mark off on your world map. Expect 2-6 pages per country on average, a few highlights, some interesting statistics, and for some of the developed countries a list of books/movies to screen before your visit.

#NotSponsored #NoBias - I'm a traveler at heart, my wife knows this and so she bought this so I could go virtually anywhere. Sure I can get online, but this has bright color pictures, details on economy, population, culture etc., all in one spot! I can thumb through the world as I lay in bed at night - no expensive airfare needed! Though the book is thick, it's a great bedside size. Pictures and information are high quality, recommendations and even places and things to eat. I love it and would recommend it for any traveler.
- I wanted a travel reference (beyond the Internet) to cover a little of everything as opposed to just one country. This is it. You get the most important, most popular sites for each nation, and you get lots of great photos and references along the way. My only issues are A) this book is a little too big to carry around, and B) you are not getting much information for each country. I think this book would have been more effective if it were divided into a paperback trilogy. Maybe "The Americas, "Europe/Africa", and "Eastern Europe/Asia/Australia". With such a division, you could have a little bit more information for each country, and each individual volume of the trilogy would still be a manageable size.
- Not a book for planning a trip to a country or city, however it is a great book for narrowing down where you want to travel. Book has top attractions of each country, some demographic information, photos and other facts of each country, which is useful to get a better idea of what the country your reading about has to offer the traveler. Happy with my purchase!
- I love this book! I like the broad points that highlight the more unque places to travel. It is a great book to thumb through when you have some down time! I leave mine on the coffee table! Guests also enjoy looking through it. I have been making my countries off in the book and making notes of things I have to add to my todo list! It is a VERY thick book, but it is neat! A great add to your LP book shelf!
