I have been purchasing these wonderful FAT CAT 3-PACKS for quite some time. My son is twelve and has been reading Garfield
Fat Cat since he was a Tot, and continues reading as a "Tween." For those who don't know, the book comes as one thick book, thus the "3-pack" although to be perfectly honest, that could seem to be a bit misleading. My first purchase many years ago had me thinking I was getting three books. I was very happy when I saw just how thick (a good inch or more) the big soft bound comic strip book was; so, no complaints here.
He had asked for Volume 1, but I couldn't understand why it was so expensive at some places and yet hard to find at others. Well, I found GARFIELD FAT CAT 3-PACK VOL 1 here, and decided to buy it used. It arrived in about two weeks in almost perfect/new condition."

• I thought these books were great! They were hilarious and I understood all of the jokes. I highly reccomend these books for grades 3-8. These books are really popular at my middle school. I love how they combined three of the books into one. I also love how Garfield insultes Jon’s intellect. By the way this was only thing I got from my parents for Christmas!!! I will ask my mom to buy me more for my birthday as the birthday gift. Jim Davis is my favorite author.(This is probably the only thing that I will probably get for my birthday*sigh*)
• My son loves Garfield and he went from a student in "reading recovery" at school (that means below grade level) to a student who reads 2-3 grades above his grade level because of his desire to read MORE Garfield than I was willing to read to him at night. Luckily, unlike many book series, this series goes on forever! And Jim Davis, bless his heart, has made it so affordable to collect his books in these fat cat 3-packs (3 books in one cover) and has made it even MORE affordable. Unlike some books made for kids (like Cap'n Underpants, for example) there are no misspelled words as the author tries to mimic what a kid's comic would look like, there is little if any violence like in some comic books, no scantily clad comic character women, no racey themes are statements.... It's just perfect for a kid in elementary school learning to read... and now and then, I'll read a few pages... and grandma loves to steal one, too... so it's just nice for all ages. So glad we stumbled on to these! It's a long-lived interest that has helped him so much!
• I basically give all these Garfield 3-packs the same rating-- First, it's a really good deal to buy the books this way price-wise. Second, Garfield really inspired my 8 year old son to learn to read a few years ago, and he reads and re-reads these books over and over. Unlike some comic books or made-for-kids books (I'm thinking of things like the comic sections of Captain Underpants), there are no spelling errors or weird slang he won't understand-- Nothing too violent or off-color-- Just Garfield. I can let him read it without worrying about it, and Garfield has become an old friend.
• we have many volumes, but for some reason volume 4 falls apart. Tried two books and both had to be tossed.
• I used to read garfield all the time when I was little, I had an old copy from my elementary days in my classroom. One day a kid picked it up and could NOT stop laughing. I had to buy more to keep my class under control. They are great for getting some stubborn boys to read )
• My 8 and 11 yr old fought over who was going to get their little grubby hands on this book first... What can I say.... GARFIELD NEVER fails... The vocabulary and not to mention the sarcasm my kiddos have learned from years of reading Garfield.... Priceless.

• I had no idea this existed until I heard it mentioned on Family Guy fairly recently. It is a taste creative genius that I did not expect from this old family classic comic writer. I love when you find these diamonds in a sea of norms. This was an artist that wanted to try something else because he can. He earned it. Thank you, Jim and everyone else that contributed.

• I’m a little mixed on this one. One thing that I loved was that Keith’s story didn’t just jump in where we met him in cake, but instead told us he and Sams entire story. I also loved having a little more insight into the future of this amazing family (I can’t wait to read about Quinn). But a pretty big negative for me was the reason behind Keith’s and Sams split. I know the author was probably trying to come up with a reason that wouldn’t make either of them look bad, but it backfired. We are supposed to be stronger together than apart, but when it was this couples time to face the test they parted. Keith may have subconsciously waited, but he did not fight for her. He pretty much abandoned her to deal with all of these huge issues on her own, based on one “ I can’t do this to you, you need to leave”. As for Sam, her reasons are just not realistic. Maybe a new relationship couldn’t withstand the storm of some bad news, but in real life an 8 year relationship doesn’t end because of a scary possibility. On the rare occasion it would, it’s because one person just didn’t love the other enough. As for the implication that she was being a martyr. Even the most noblest of human beings isn’t that self sacrificing. The main reason being, we know it’s not the right option based on our ability to empathize. In real life she would have first thought of how she would feel if Keith treated her the same way, and realized that she’s hurt him more by pushing him away. There is a reason the phrase “it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all” is so profound and has stood the test of time. Instead of inspiring or whatever the author thought would happen, the device used for the split becomes cheap. If pressed, almost everyone can think of a couple who withstood a similar issue, and of how they came together during the storm. There is a reason for this. When attacked, we don’t start the battle of deciding to leave behind our armor.
  .
• Ohmigosh! I love, love, love Keith’s story! As always, J. Bengtsson gives you more than you expect with her books.
  
  Keith has been a character that fans have been ravenously curious about since “Cake A Love Story”, and he finally gets his due. Keith’s and Samantha’s love story is truly epic.
  
  Keith is a great character. His journey is often fraught with difficulty and loneliness. But he never loses his unique, and often humorous, take on the world.
  
  “Rogue Wave” is an excellent book. By turns funny, tragic, sweet, angsty, and happy, Keith’s story rises and falls like his beloved ocean with the tides.
  
  Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about it - and I am *not* someone who gushes in reviews. But I just can’t help it - J. Bengtsson is one of my favorite, automatic one-click authors. Give “Rogue Wave” a try and I’m certain of two things one, you’ll be happily checking out the rest of the “Cake” series books, and two, you will have found a new favorite author.

• I literally did a binge read of all the Cake books when I discovered Ms. Bengtsson’s writing last year and when I heard we were getting another story and that it would be Keith’s story, I thought I had an inkling of what kind of story we were getting based on what I’d read… this family is amazing!! Their humor is almost slapstick funny, but their love for each other is unparalleled. Well, I was wrong mostly… there’s SO MUCH about Keith and how he became the man he is today….and I literally had tears streaming from my eyes a few times reading this book.
  
  This book is written with so much detail and really brings us into Keith and Sam’s lives. The emotion and drama of what was happening with them individually and as a couple was at times heartbreaking but also made me laugh with how sassy Sam is with him. He’s never experienced a girl like her before and Keith just doesn’t know what to do. There comes a time when he has to make some important decisions and being with Sam far outweighs some of his other options. I love how they loved each other. Keith truly saved Samantha in so many ways. Sam also has the best BFF ever…. we all need a “Shannon” in our lives!
  
  This story has a lot of a backstory to it and while it was a little slow moving for me at times, in hindsight it’s just perfect so we can truly understand what the unthinkable happens to his brother Jake, if you haven’t read Cake, you need to because then you’ll understand why I said this, and how this one event catapults this young man into a world that is dark and painful and agonizing to watch. When things turnaround for this family, Keith gets back to the man I knew was lurking below the surface.
  
  There are great moments of redemption that had my heart hurting because who knew all this had happened? I certainly didn’t when I was reading the other books that’s for sure!!
  
  There’s so much to this story and how no matter how long it takes, getting to your forever is worth all the pain and hard work it takes to get there. Keith and Sam had a tough road that was filled with pain, sorrow, passion, love and joy. I was nearly giddy with my own joy at the end of this book for so many reasons, including seeing the entire family in all their sarcastic best selves!!
  
  Ms. Bengtsson has written a book that is stunning in how it delves into subjects we don’t read a lot about and how it’s possible to overcome even the most difficult stumbling blocks and being able to rejoice in love both from family and the woman who is your forever!

• I've always enjoyed this author's work. This writer is a very good story teller. She keeps it real, and I like that. As in this story, her heroines are feisty and strong characters which I also like. I don't think she needs to always add explicit sex scenes, but then, that's just my opinion. I think she builds enough passion and sizzle with her writing expertise.
  The storyline draws the reader in by nicely developing the characters. Keeping it interesting. The two main characters, Logan and Elizabeth, come from completely different backgrounds. Logan was an orphan, who has been on his own since he was thirteen. After his wife and child are murdered, his rage leads him to become a bounty hunter who seldom brings his quarry back alive. However is intimidating exterior finds it hard to hide a lonely, loving heart. Elizabeth was born into wealth; a spoiled, beautiful young British debutante whose life consists of beautiful gowns, soirees and balls in order to marry a rich earl or duke. Boring! When she decides to leave for America with her brother to discover a new life of freedom, she suddenly finds her life turned upside down. Not only is her brother murdered, but she is duped by the charms of the same man who murdered her brother, by robbing her of her jewels and money. Left all alone, she enlists the help of Logan to find the man who has all but destroyed her life. She demands to go with him. Unbeknownst to her, she is about to embark on a journey that will show her a side of life and emotions that she is thoroughly unprepared for.
  If, like me, you like "real" then you'll very much enjoy this story! The author doesn't sugar coat anything! Not for the faint of heart! There's a lot of violent action. There is also passion and romance that turns to love that calms and heals Logan's broken heart. Touching moments that definitely tugs at the heart strings. A lot going on.

• Logan's Lady was a Rosanne Bittner special! There was a beautiful spunky heroine, a formal Lady at that. There was the requisite brave, flawed but honorable, bad guy killing hero. There was angst, heart wrenching tragedy, wicked dastardly villains. There was western drama, gun fights, Indians, lawmen and outlaws. There was faith, fear, hate but at the heart of this story an all conquering kind of love that had me reading the book wanting to get to the last page but never wanting the story to end! Rosanne Bittner continues as a favorite author. A very very talented lady! I can't wait for more in the series!
• Rosanne had done it again. A great love story that I didn't want to end. Actually read another book in between because I didn't want this one to end. A story about two people from different walks of life who met and fell in love. I've read many of her books and this one was one of the best. I hope she develops this into a series.
• It was quite a journey .RICH youth facing a world they had read about in dime novels.Taking a risk they really knew nothing of what they would face.Trusting people by wealth and polished manners.This view of the world got one killed and near tragedy for the other.Well written as a story of life.
• Really enjoyed this book but knew I would because it was written by one of my favorite authors. I like books that have a tough male lead and in this book that is what we had. Enjoyed the love story and the story line of evil men meeting their just rewards.
• I've read every book she's written and have loved, enjoyed, and savored every one. And can't wait for the next! This was a great story, loved the characters. Would love to read a sequel. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough! I didn't want it to end.
• I read almost all of Ms Bittner books and this one was wonderful it was a great story and a great ride....one of the best of her books I stayed up all night to finish a very good story
• This is my first stand alone from Mrs Bittner. Quite enjoyable to read with a HEA ending. Characters were developed, humor, drama and random acts of kindness.

• I have been practically salivating for this book! And it did not disappoint! I did a little happy dance (I'll admit it) when Shea became a bigger part of the story. My only complaint was that it ended so abruptly!
• I can’t wait for the next book! I love how this story is developing and all the twists! I am looking foreword to what happens next. One of my favorite series.
• I don't even know what to say... I honestly can't remember how I discovered this series.. Either an author take over event or an author recommendation.. But I an so mad I didn't just start this series asap.. I fell in love with book one and have demolished every book as fast as I possibly could because I couldn't get enough of this world.. It's so different & surprising me every time I think it might lead in one direction but takes me on a wild ride.. I gotta say I think this one is definitely my favorite but I'm so sad I have to wait for the next book.. If you haven't read this series go and grab it right now!! Don't wait!!
• So this one is more of 3.5 for me. I didn't enjoy this installment as much as the others. There were a decent amount of spelling errors that threw me now and then. Even with names..i.e. She versus Shea. The story seemed a bit rushed and not as fleshed out when it came to character interactions. FMC seemed a bit full of herself in this installment as well. Also a seemingly abrupt end. Not so much a cliff hanger, more of an is the sentence finished? I have really enjoyed this series and am still interested in the next book. I'm not sure I would have read the second book if the first was anything like this though.
• There are misspelled words throughout this book. Even if the multiple technical problems didn’t detract from the book, the author relies on grandiosity for the story that gets still worse in the next book. The female protagonist, Dot, is now a god with limitless power. Everything about Cedar Falls and the life Dot was building there has been dropped from the series as the author is now dedicated to writing alternative realities about elves and gods. Apparently there are 7 realms, so expect as many more books - and men that Dot decides she is in “love” with.
• I’m really loving this series. While there is some action, the focus is really on the relationships between the characters. In Fourth Rite, we learn more about Dar - who I am really loving ) and a new character is introduced. I am intrigued to see how he fits in and also learn more about what the Fourth Rite means for the group )
• I would just like to say how much I love this story and most of the characters. I am not happy that Shea was chosen as one of her lovers. That has really turned me off and the love seen with him was very bad for me. I almost didn't want to finish the book once he had been chosen. I get that she needs diversity but I feel like he was a poor choice. I'm not a fan of his character in general so it was pretty disappointing for me. I think the story itself is very good.
• These books just keep getting better and better. I can’t stop laughing, the shenanigans are unreal, and the amount of love is infinitesimal! Dot is slowly discovering secrets and the freakin elves are causing havoc regardless of dark or light. Can’t wait for book five!

• Most inspiring book I've read since "The Good Life"
• This excellent book from a tree propagator should be read by anyone concerned about climate change, feeding the people of today and the future, biodiversity loss, atmospheric carbon.
  Maybe you have seen the YouTube video of a TED talk about restoring desertifying land using mobs of cattle, bunched and moved regularly. What the cattle do is eat up dead grasses and put organic compost, including seeds, on the ground. Traditional mixed farmers and organic farmers know this already. In just the same way, this book explains how plants naturally put carbon, humus and moisture in the ground for microscopic life to break down. By flattening fields and tilling them humans destroy the structure and biology of the soil, until there is nothing left but bare clay that needs chemical fertiliser, watering, then weedkiller and pesticide because there are no predators for the pests.
  
  The author gives us the benefit of all the lessons he has learned. The trees he plants grow fast, healthy young stocks for planting out elsewhere. While the author doesn't like selling potted trees, preferring bare roots, I would point out that his wish not to sell his soil with a tree, means the tree has none of the microbes with it in its new home.
  
  I like the section on how old forests are full of pits where a tree uprooted and mounds where a tree trunk lay and rotted. Amphibians will live in the pits but a good point is that fish can't because they dry up, so the life that fish would eat can thrive. In redwood forests, not mentioned, the seedlings grow on the length of a nurse tree like this, roots reaching down for water and nutrients provided by fungi. Mixed stands of trees are also favoured by any sensible forester, because of the possibility of disease and squirrel strike; deciduous trees with their annually shed, fast rotting leaves are mixed through conifers to fertilise and improve the soil. In Ireland, UCD studies proved that biodiversity shoots up from five bird species to twenty-three when a soft edging of shrubs and smaller native trees are planted around a block of spruces.
  
  The author takes us through budding, grafting, rooting and growing from seed, with many recommendations including a list of what is good to add to soil, from wood chips to comfrey tea and cardboard. Biochar is presented as the best long term way to add fertiliser and sequester carbon.
  
  Then the author presents his 'allies' the major types of tree which can feed us and replace ground crops to a great extent. Sweet chestnuts (we are more familiar with horse chestnuts here) produce vast quantities of rich nuts and the author suggests hybridising Asian varieties with the American varieties to impart resistance to Asian fungal strains. This is being carried out on European trees. He tells the story of the American chestnut, a keystone species and supporter of many farm families, wiped out by disease. We learn of the attempts to save it by outcrossing, still under way. And as the young pure trees die after 15 years but have produced seed and sprout from the root, they can be kept going, which is what happened with elm trees here after Dutch Elm disease. I am hoping the coppiced trees will develop resistance which they pass on to seeds.
  
  Apples; poplar, which is only good for paper and matches but helps with biodiversity and draining water; ash; mulberry; elderberry (perfect edge of forest shrub); hickory; hazelnut; black locust; beech; these are the core trees the author advises us to plant, for wildlife and ourselves. We don't have all of them here (I'd put in walnut, oak and rowan) but I'd take any of them over a sterile stand of Sitka. We are given information about each species and its benefits, how to grow it.
  
  The author tells us some exercises to help us relax, open to the natural world and see better. He mentions one called 'owl eyes' or seeing with peripheral vision (he calls it wide vision) and he says this can help you find things at night. The reason would be that the focal vision is handled mostly by cone cells in the eye, which see colour, but the peripheral vision sees with a good mix of rod cells which see black and white, so they have an advantage in low light and spot movement.
  
  Last we get a list of books on trees, farms and pre-Columbian culture which the author recommends. I would add the excellent The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben about the apex beech forests in central Europe and how they and other trees communicate and support life.
  
  I enjoyed this read very much, as a tree surgeon and ecologist, and it is packed with colour photos and some old b/w ones, so we get a good understanding of the subject matter. Gardeners, tree lovers, ecologists, farmers and those mentioned at the start who want to reverse climate change, need to read this book.
